T & J Constructions employs extensive contract and quality systems to ensure our jobs are carried out efficiently and professionally, with emphasis on safety and sustainability. This has resulted in an outstanding track record for large urban regeneration projects, as well as a stellar reputation in almost all other aspects of civil construction, from roadworks to landscaping. We are also experts at installing new services, or replacing existing ones, in urban areas. We are both SA Water and Telstra accredited, and work closely with other utility companies such as ETSA, APA and DPTI. Common service trench, water main, sewerage, and stormwater installations are all day to day activities for T & J.
Our exemplary work ethic and project management skills have lead to T & J Constructions forming close relationships with many local councils, government departments, subcontractors, suppliers and private enterprises.
At T & J Constructions, we work hard to maintain our reputation as a professional contracting company that employs excellent project management to deliver a high quality result across a wide variety of projects. Client satisfaction is paramount and we take maximum pride in both meeting, and exceeding, our client's expectations.
T & J Constructions was bought by John McMichael in 2008. At the time, John had over 30 years of experience in the Civil Industry. As Civil Remediations Manager for an array of Tier 1 and 2 companies, he'd already been involved in some of South Australia's most iconic civil construction projects, with a cumulative value in excess of $280 million.
John's extensive experience in the industry allowed him to build a strong and loyal team of employees. At first the company was something of a four man operation; Andy Cameron took on the role of Construction Manager, and having worked on large projects for Tier 1 Civil Construction companies in the past, brought invaluable construction knowledge and experience to the company. Charles Hatcher joined the ranks as Contracts Manager shortly after. His background in corporate and government management equipped him with extremely useful contracting and communicational skills. Malcolm Cox was appointed as the single site supervisor at the time, bringing with him extensive knowledge and experience from the multiple Tier 1 construction companies he'd previously worked for. All four of these men are still with T & J today, dedicating their time to continuously improving the company.
The combination of skills and knowledge proved to be a winning one - T & J Constructions quickly grew. As the workflow increased, the staff base expanded to meet industry demand. Project Managers, administrators, and a permanent labour force were established to keep operations running smoothly. Currently, T & J Constructions consists of the 4 original pioneers, John, Andy, Charles, and Malcolm, 7 additional site supervisors, 3 Project Managers, 4 Administrators, and a permanent labour force of around 55 workers.
